Coffee Morning with Mince Pies

Kay White's Christmas decorations
On Saturday 8 December, we hosted a ‘Coffee Morning with Mince Pies’ extravaganza!  Well, yes I am over-egging the Christmas pudding, but a most congenial time was had by all.

Set in the informal surroundings of the refreshment area in the North Aisle of our beautiful Church, an encouragingly large and diverse crowd gathered to taste our wares and were then asked to contribute to the cause by purchasing the superb, predominantly handmade, festive finery made by some of the Friends themselves.

Meanwhile, as many of us were enjoying the convivial warmth and geniality of the Church, outside the Town Hall, Pam Rattray and Sue Pither were braving the elements from early morn, selling raffle tickets for some really super prizes.  Many, many thanks to them!

The event was both fun and heart-warming and we are very grateful to all those who contributed.  This year we raised a handsome sum (to be verified by our very own amiable 'Scrooge', Lawrie, FoStA's honorary treasurer), which will go towards our primary aim: to support the fabric which makes St. Andrew's Church a special and much-loved beacon in Colyton and a hub of our so evidently strong community.

MERRY CHRISTMAS
